My own journey
It was my physiotherapist who suggested it. I kept re-spraining my ankle for no reason and as I am a fairly active person I was becoming really frustrated and emotionally down about it. That was in 2013 and TRE® was the beginning of my journey of real change. I had been reading self-help books for over 15 years and had also been on a number of transformational workshops over the years. Although they opened my mind up to new possibilities and even helped for a short time, I still found myself returning to my old ways of struggle and anxiety, of repeating old patterns of behaviour and of finding life frustrating and often really tough.
Very early on during my TRE® sessions I realised just how much anxiety I was living with on a daily basis and as I started experiencing moments of calm I knew I was onto something good! Eventually I learned enough to release, rebalance and recover on my own and I noticed that the more I continued the process the greater the changes were. I am sure you’re wondering if I still sprain my ankles… Well, in actual fact no! What has been incredible is how many other areas of my life have also changed – I no longer need to rely on medication to make me feel calmer or take anti-depressants to make me feel happy. To be quite honest I thought only prescribed drugs can create such peace on a continued basis.
What I like about TRE® is that as long as I continue to be willing, my body wants to tremor and release. Better still, there is no need to get bogged down in rehashing and reliving past events. Although a memory of early childhood abuse did surface – I knew instinctively that this offered me the opportunity to let go of deep and long held trauma and trapped emotions to allow for a more holistic healing going forwards. The memory also helped me to understand why I had developed certain behavioural patterns at such a young age.
TRE® is the first modality I’ve been drawn to actively share with others, as a result of the powerful impact it has had for me. In 2014 I completed the practitioner course and in 2017 the advanced training. I continue to assist on training workshops and attend continued training to keep up-to-date with new developments and research.
This journey of self-healing drew me to experience and subsequently attend other trainings such as The Bars and later Acudetox courses.
I have found it humbling to witness the positive changes it makes in people’s lives and feel privileged to be able to pass on this knowledge to my clients.
Differentiation
In any healing profession whether it’s a medical doctor or a homeopath, it is not just the training/certificates awarded, but rather through experience that one is better able to assist those who desire healing. My own life experiences and journey of self-healing have been so life changing that I knew these techniques to be powerful and from this grew my passion to want to share these body stress relief techniques with others. Because of my own experiences I am able to understand and connect more easily with each person’s unique situation.
I continuously monitor and manage my own well-being, and more specifically my nervous system, in order to be in the best possible space to support my clients through their own journey of release, rebalance and renewal.
As each client is unique, my approach is always to put their needs first and this is where I draw not just on my knowledge and experiences, but also utilise other wellness professionals. It is this integrative approach that helps my clients really experience results and empowers them to move forward and enjoy a healthier and happier life.
